In all sections of the exhibition, images must originate as photographs made by the entrant. They may not incorporate images or parts produced by anyone else (eg. Clipart, 3rd party / stock replacement skies, brushes, textures or other stock images). Images created in whole or part by image creation software (frequently called “AI” images) are not allowed. Editing or alteration of images is permitted within the specific limitations describe in the relevant section definitions.
Anyone found to have entered an “AI” image will be sanctioned in accordance with the PAGB rulings.
Reproduction
The entrant permits the exhibition organisers to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the exhibition. This may include low resolution posting on a website.
Entries will not be accepted from entrants who indicate that their images may not be reproduced in materials related to this exhibition. The exhibition accepts no liability for any misuse of copyright.

Selection
The exhibition will be conducted in accordance with the rules of the PAGB and BPE.
The entrant’s images will not be presented to the selectors consecutively. An entrant’s four (4) images / prints will be distributed throughout the four rounds of selection in that section. Distribution will be in the same order as submitted by the entrant.
Selectors will view the images together in the same location. Digital images are presented for selection using a colour calibrated Epson EB-L630U digital projector displaying the images at 100% of the image resolution. No resizing of the images will take place. The equipment is expecting images in the sRGB colour space. If you use a different colour space, you should convert to sRGB before submitting.
If your images do not meet the specifications they may not display correctly and we may not be able to present them to the selectors.
Prints will be displayed on a bespoke print viewer utilising daylight illumination (6500k). The same criteria for image distribution within the four (4) rounds for each section apply.
Scoring of each image will be between two (2) and five (5) from each selector, giving a maximum score of fifteen (15).

Any black and white image going from very dark grey (black) to very clear grey (white) and containing only various shaded of grey. A black and white work toned entirely in a single colour will remain eligible for the monochrome section. However, a black and white work modified by partial toning or addition of one or more colours, becomes a colour image and will not be accepted in the monochrome section.
Open Colour
There are no restrictions for this class.
Nature
Nature photography is restricted to the use of the photographic process to depict all branches of natural history, except anthropology and archaeology, in such a fashion that a well-informed person will be able to identify the subject matter and certify its honest presentation. The story telling of a photograph must be weighed more than the pictorial quality while maintaining high technical quality. Human elements shall not be present, except where those human elements are integral parts of the nature story. For example, nature subjects such as Barn Owls or Storks, adapted to an environment modified by humans, or where those human elements are in situations depicting natural forces, like hurricanes or tidal waves.
Scientific bands, scientific tags or radio collars on wild animals are permissible. Photographs of human created hybrid plants, cultivated plants, feral animals, domestic animals or mounted specimens are ineligible, as is any form of manipulation that alters the truth of the photographic statement.
No techniques that add, relocate, replace or remove pictorial elements except by cropping are permitted. Techniques that enhance the presentation of the photograph without changing the nature story or the pictorial content, or without altering the content of the original scene, are permitted including HDR, focus stacking and dodge/burning. Techniques that remove elements added by the camera, such as dust spot, digital noise, and film scratches, are allowed. Stitched images are not permitted. All allowed adjustments must appear natural, colour images can be converted to greyscale monochrome. Infrared images, either direct captures or derivations, are not allowed. Controlling of live subjects by chilling, anaesthetic or any other method of restricting movement for the purpose of a photograph is not permitted.
Images entered in Nature sections meeting the Nature Photography Definitions above can have landscapes, geologic formations, weather phenomena and extant organisms as the primary subject matter. This includes images taken with the subjects in controlled conditions, such as zoos, game farms, botanical gardens, aquariums, and any enclosure where the subjects are totally dependent on humans for food.
Photographers may be asked to supply the RAW file, prior to editing, in the case of any query.
